My first blog - just to indrocuce you to who I am...

OK, soooo.. about me, just to get me started. You'll have to let me know how it is for a blog - I don't really know what I'm doing...
The main thing that inspired me to start a blog is that I really love Geography and want to study it university. Lots of the issues that we study in lessons really motivate me to want to do something, like stopping unneccesary deforestation in South-East Asia to make way for plantations to produce palm oil and reducing or banning the use of toxic chemicals in the manufacture of everyday products and appliances, which either eventually seeps into soil or is burnt and released into the atmosphere...
I do consider myself quite different - I'm quite philosophical, I like Geography, Physics and French (not the average person's favourite subjects!) and I dress in what I like and what's confortable, not what's in fashion. Mostly though, I love learning, particularly about how we can make our planet sustainable, trade fair and still preserve tradtional cultures.
I also play the violin and hope to take my Grade 8 this summer.. or the next. I would love to build my own underground sustainable house when I'm older and have the money :) like The White Bear Hotel in The Snow Queen with Bridget Fonda. I like shopping but not in Primark!! I love Affleck's Palace in Manchester, vintage and charity shops and altering clothes myself.
I've recently really got in to folk/pop music after falling in love with Noah and the Whale last year at Kendal Calling, a local (and rather amazing!) music festival!! Now my favourites are Noah and the Whale - they always make me smile as soon as I start listening to them - Laura Marling, Mumford and Sons, Fleet Foxes and Emmy the Great. Last year I saw loads of bands at Kendal Calling but in the autumn Little Boots and Friendly Fires at 53 Degrees, Preston and the Arctic Monkeys in Manchester - they were all awesome but particularly Little Boots with her futuristic style and note-perfect voice!
After a day at school in the summer I love the bus journey home looking out over the Kent Estuary at the peaks of the Lake District and seeing the sun on the top of Arnside Knott. Then I'll go home, get changed and dump my stuff and take some homework and my MP3 up the Knott and sitting in the sun admiring the view...
Most of all I love spending time with my best friend, wandering round town, going to bars, just chatting about philosphical things, going to the castle, sitting in and watching the IT Crowd, going to gigs and festivals... etc etc etc.
